Shepherd Squadron was a New Republic fighter wing that was based on Rattatak. They participated in the assault on the Fondor Shipyards and the Battle of Jakku.
History
Fondor Shipyards

Shepherd Squadron fought during the Battle of Fondor Shipyards where their mission was to destroy the Interdictor-class heavy cruiser Spectral that was providing cover so Star Destroyers could escape. They fought deployed TIE fighters and failed there mission as Yancee Drai was killed as her X-wing exploded and Bak Rychuk disappeared into hyperspace with the ship.[2]
Jakku
Shepherd Squadron, consisting of a mix of A-wings, X-wings, and Y-wings, later arrived along with the rest of the New Republic fleet during the Battle of Jakku.[2]
