The Sheltered Keep was a keep on[1] the Unknown Regions[2] planet Exegol that held information concerning the former Sith Maul's control of the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate. After the Battle of Exegol[1] in 35 ABY,[3] in which the Resistance took control of Exegol from the Sith Eternal, the Exegol Excavation Project retrieved the information on Maul from the Sheltered Keep and added it to a file on Maul's criminal activities in the "Sith Lords" section of its data.[1] That same year,[4] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the Sheltered Keep in[1] his[2] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire when citing the information from the project's files.[1]
