Shaparaks were a type of robust, green insect found on the tropical planet Akiva. Intelligent and docile, they emitted pacifying waves with their wings to subdue potential threats, although the expressive patterns on their wings were also used to scare off predators. Many of Akiva's inhabitants believed that an anxious mind could be soothed by watching a wild shaparak.[1]

Shaparaks appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game, Star Wars Outlaws.[1]
