"I know how tired you must be, working so diligently for our Republic's victory. But unless there's anything urgent I should know, I'm afraid I must ask you to excuse me. I have some rather tricky negotiations to conclude with the Shahmistra of J'doytzin Three. One of those awkward conversations that sadly cannot be trusted to the Diplomatic Bureau."
―Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, to Jedi Master Yoda[1]

The Shahmistra of J'doytzin III, also known by the sobriquet His Illustriousness, was a male individual who lived during the latter years of the Galactic Republic. In 21 BBY, the Shahmistra held some negotiations with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, the leader of the Republic. Palpatine considered the negotiations to be tricky and had chosen to meet with the Shamistra of J'doytzin III himself rather than to entrust the discussion to the Diplomatic Bureau. Their meeting took half an hour, and by the end of their conversation Palpatine had successfully wooed the Shahmistra. However, Palpatine—who was also secretly a Sith Lord and desired to bring the galaxy under Sith rule—found his meeting with the Shahmistra to be rather grating and he vowed that when the Sith came to power the Shahmistra would be among the first people to face Palpatine's retribution.[1]
