Shadow wing was a TIE/LN starfighter wing within the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War.[1] One of Shadow wing's pilots was PS-29-2—nicknamed "Mynock"—who flew under the call sign of Shadow Two, operating and tweaking the control systems of[2] a TIE/LN starfighter used to enforce blockades, which had exquisite handling for slashing attacks on unescorted transports and freighters.[3] PS-29-3—nicknamed "Hammer"—was another TIE pilot of Shadow wing.[4] Flying under the call sign of Shadow Three,[5] PS-29-3 intended to eventually lead Shadow wing,[4] and likewise his starfighter had a command system capable of coordinating the entire Shadow wing's combined power.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Imperial Shadow wing was created in 2001's Premiere expansion set of Decipher's Jedi Knights Trading Card Game. While it was simultaneously introduced by the cards for Shadow Three,[1] PS-29-3,[4] Shadow Two,[3] and PS-29-2,[2] only the first[1] and second card in this sentence mentioned the wing by name.[4]
