Shadow Base was a mobile facility used by warlord Cronal in his guise as Lord Shadowspawn and his breakaway forces of the Galactic Empire located on Mindor and used by. Sited inside a volcano and capable of launching gravity bombs, the base could be launched into space by the use of gravitic charges. In the course of Cronal's plan to capture Luke Skywalker and destroy the New Republic task force sent to end Shadowspawn campaign, Cronal then launched the base into space, where it broke apart and was destroyed.
