The seven algorithmic études of Vardos were pieces of music indigenous to Vardos,[1] a planet in the Core Worlds that was razed and devastated by the Galactic Empire as part of Operation: Cinder.[2] By the closing stages of the Galactic Civil War, the seven algorithmic études were considered songs of a lost civilization.[1]

The seven algorithmic études of Vardos was first mentioned in the 2021 novel Victory's Price: An Alphabet Squadron Novel, written by Alexander Freed, as the title of the novel's sixth chapter. All of the chapter titles in the first part of the novel are "indigenous songs of lost civilizations."[1]
