A Separatist outpost was a CIS mobile command center on the planet Maridun was used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars for weapons testing.

History

In 22 BBY,[1] Confederate General Lok Durd built the outpost to protect their landing ship and it's cargo, the prototype Defoliator Deployment Tank. At the outpost, Durd and his technician prepared to test the weapon. Durd then had battle droids stand at attention in anticipation of the test. Durd asked that two volunteers to step in order to test the weapon's effects on droids.[2]

Durd contacted the Confederate Head of State, Count Dooku, via hologram to let him watch the demonstration of the weapon. After it's successful test, Dooku asked Durd to test the weapon on living beings, to which the general agreed to carry out on the nearby Lurmen village. Durd then took the majority of his forces to the village and left a small contingent at the outpost.[2]

Unbeknownst to Durd, Jedi Generals Aayla Secura, Anakin Skywalker, his apprentice Ahsoka Tano, Commander Bly, and Captain Rex had recently crash-landed on the planet. Together they planned to steal the shuttle and then return to Lurmen Village to protect them against Durd's weapon. Skywalker, Rex and Bly distracted the outside patrols while Secura and Tano scaled the outpost's walls. Together, they were able to eliminate the remaining droids around the base's command center and took the shuttle back to the village, yet not before finding, and taking, several shield generators the group thought may come useful. The outpost was deserted.[2]
