Scratch was a particular large minstyngar that lived in the Shadowlands, the dark ground level of the forests of the planet Kashyyyk.

It was killed in 1 ABY by a spacer sent by either Harwakokok the Mighty or Krepauk.

Behind the scenes

Scratch first appeared in Rage of the Wookiees, the second expansion for Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies. In the quest The Smiting of Old Scratch, the Wookiee Harwakokok asks the player to kill Scratch to earn his trust.

The creature appeared again in the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game scenario Minstyngar Hunt that was available in March and April 2010. In this scenario, the player is asked by the Wookiee Krepauk to kill the creature and bring him Scratch's head.[1] It is unknown which version of Scratch's death is the canonical version.
