Around 3 ABY,[3] forces of the Scourge attacked Fortress Vader on the planet Mustafar in order to inhabit the Sith Lord Darth Vader for his knowledge of the Force. The attempt was ultimately a failure after Vader prevented himself from being infected.[1] The Scourge would try again to infect Vader with an attack on Vader's flagship Executor and for a third time with another attack on Mustafar.[2]
