The Scion massacre was ordered by Eternal Empire Emperor Arcann soon after he took the Eternal Throne. Detesting the Scions of Zakuul for believing in prophecies and pre-ordained order of things, Arcann ordered the Knights of Zakuul to wipe out the Scions.[1] Most Knights were loyal to the new Emperor and the order was carried out, often with Knights and Exarchs slaughtering the same Scions they served with side-by-side.[2] A number of Scions, led by Heskal, managed to survive and escaped into hiding.[3]
