The last Satab of the planet Ventooine ruled with absolute power over his people for about one year some time before the Battle of Yavin. Like the Satabs who had ruled before him, the last of the line derived his power from the enigmatic stone called the Shadeshine, which enhanced his senses and bestowed a range of powers over matter and other people's minds, while dooming him to an early death. The last Satab tried to forcibly give the stone to the Han Solo but was stopped by his own Tieress, Chrysalla, who had fallen in love with the tramp freighter captain. While the Satab fought the couple, his body succumbed to the power of the Shadeshine. Shortly after his death, Solo destroyed the stone so that no new Satab could ever replace him.
