Sand rot was a disease. The podracer Ben Quadinaros claimed that his pit crew had come down with sand rot when hiring the Freemakers of Freemaker Salvage and Repair as a replacement crew, although in truth he was luring them into a trap for Graballa the Hutt.[1]
