Samdew was a Human male from Typha-Dor who was the communications officer for a surveillance outpost on Typha-Dor's moon, TY44. He was killed by another member of the crew, Mezdec. Mezdec told the others that Samdew was a spy from the neighboring world of Vanqor and said that he was responsible for the deaths of four of the crew members. However, Mezdec was the actual spy.
