- "Its capital city of Salis D'aar is conveniently laid out in a circular pattern, making it easy for outsiders to navigate."
- ―Eloc Throno, Traveler's Guide to Batuu
Salis D'aar was the capital city of the planet Bakura. It was laid out in a circular pattern which, according to historian Eloc Throno in his[1] 34 ABY[2] book Traveler's Guide to Batuu, made it easy for outsiders and visitors to navigate. Throno also wrote in the book that Salis D'aar was a large city located within a reasonable commute from the planet Batuu, and that it could offer all modern conveniences needed.[1]
Behind the scenes
Salis D'aar was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2020 reference book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu, written by Cole Horton.[1] Salis D'aar was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity in the 1993 novel The Truce at Bakura, written by Kathy Tyers.[3]

- ↑ Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Traveler's Guide to Batuu establishes that at the time of the book's setting the Resistance was based on Batuu. Star Wars: Timelines dates both the establishment of the Batuu Resistance base and its eventual relocation to Ajan Kloss to 34 ABY. Therefore, the in-universe guide must have been authored that year.
