Sal was a miner who was part of the group working on Ilum for the Minos-Mestra Corporation. The miners accidentally unearthed the burial site of a Kaleesh warrior. The son of the desecrated Kaleesh was the Sith Lord Xalek, who in an act of revenge attacked Sal and his crew and killed everyone present.[1]
