The S-DST was a model of aquatic destroyer employed by the Trade Federation around the time of the Invasion of Naboo. It used cutting lasers that operated as energy pummels in an anti-ship role. It had a clamshell design, and was part of a line that included the S-HDST.[1] The Sith Lord Darth Maul and Commander OOM-9 used one to subjugate one of Naboo's sentient species, the Gungans. The destroyer transported B1-series battle droids and destroyer droids to the Gungan capital, Otoh Gunga, only to find that it had been abandoned.[2]
Behind the scenes
The S-DST is a vehicle used by the Trade Federation in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. The vehicle was also included in the game's 2002 expansion pack, Clone Campaigns. The S-DST also appears in the 2012 short story "End Game," written by James Luceno and included in the re-release of the novelization of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
