The Royal Archives was a records facility located in the city of Theed on the planet Naboo. It was formerly affiliated with Naboo's monarchy, but fell under the control of the Galactic Empire. During the Galactic Civil War, a group of rebels hoped to acquire the genetic information of Emperor Palpatine from the Royal Archives in order to kill him with the Grim Rose artifact. The rebel Lando Calrissian infiltrated the facility in disguise as an Imperial officer, but the records clerk saw through his ruse. However, the clerk, who had previously hidden Palpatine's sample after witnessing the actions of the Empire, provided the data to Calrissian in the hope of leading to the Emperor's downfall.^[1]
