Rosewood was a type of wood[1] that shared its name with the type of flower known as rose.[2] The Ithorian ecologist and Force Adept Ish'tay, who resided on the devastated[1] Core Worlds[3] planet Caamas, possessed a gnarled staff made of rosewood. Having at one point studied the jungle that had become the first area of vegetation growing on the otherwise barren world, Ish'tay used the staff to lean on.[1]
Behind the scenes
Rosewood was introduced in the Star Wars franchise in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 sourcebook published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[1] In the real world, rosewood is an ornamental brown–to–purple-brown timber produced from several different tropical trees.[4]
