During his time at Takodana Castle, Volpai sous-chef Robbs Ely kept a recipe book. Ely refused to share the book as it contained his most prized recipes, for which he was murdered and the book stolen by BD-3000 luxury droids Carly and J'Nell, who believed that Ely's meals were potentially hazardous. After the droids had been exposed as Ely's murderers and destroyed, Ely's boss Strono Tuggs uploaded the book's contents to the Orto Culinary Academy so that the dead chef would be remembered and the recipes would be passed down.[1]

- ↑ "A Recipe for Death" establishes that Strono Tuggs has served in Takodana Castle for more than twenty years, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary establishes that Tuggs served in the castle for centuries before the Battle of Takodana, which is dated to 34 ABY by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. As such, "A Recipe for Death" must take place at least 180 years before that year.
