- "After your ship is checked for all necessary permits and legitimacy of cargo, you will be allowed to continue on to your destination using navigational data provided by the Star Destroyer Revenge."
- ―The Watcher, to the Arion Star
The Revenge was a Galactic Empire Imperial-class Star Destroyer in service at some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY. It once accompanied five Imperial Customs Frigates traveling through hyperspace. Their travel was interrupted, however, when an asteroid towed by pirates into the hyperlane the fleet was in forced it to emerge in realspace. While the pirate freighters subsequently prepared to escape into hyperspace, the Revenge proceeded to attack and eventually destroy their Corellian corvette. The Star Destroyer later transmitted to the light freighter Arion Star their current coordinates, enabling the freighter to continue on its journey that had likewise been interrupted by the pirates.
Description
The Revenge was an Imperial-class Star Destroyer that was a part of the navy of the Galactic Empire.[2] Manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards and measuring 1,600 meters in length,[1] it had a bridge outfitted with[2] a communications tower[3] and at least one ISD-72x deflector shield generator dome.[5] The Star Destroyer was also equipped with an I-a2b solar ionization reactor[4] and three Destroyer-I ion engines and four Gemon-4 ion engines.[3] It carried a complement of TIE/ln space superiority starfighters.[2]
History
At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY,[6] a fleet of the Galactic Empire, which included the Revenge and five Imperial Customs Frigates—among them the Watcher—was travelling in hyperspace. The fleet was forced to revert to realspace over a celestial body after it encountered in its hyperlane an asteroid towed there by a gang of pirates as a trap. The freighters the pirates were using to board other captured starships immediately made preparations to escape into hyperspace while their Corellian corvette began to weakly defend them against the Revenge.[2]
The corvette was soon destroyed, and the Imperial vessels began to investigate the other ships that had been trapped by the pirates. The Watcher then hailed the light freighter Arion Star—which had been travelling from the planet Tancon[2] in the Outer Rim Territories' Koradin sector[7] to the neighboring[8] Wazta sector's[9] Soarin system. The Imperial vessel notified the freighter that, after the Watcher had carried out an inspection of the latter ship, the Revenge would transmit to the Arion Star their current coordinates so that the freighter could continue its journey. The Arion Star complied with the Watcher's instructions and eventually left for the Soarin system.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Revenge appeared in the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game adventure "Milk Run," which was written by Sterling Hershey[2] and was run by the RPGA Network at the 1991 Gen Con gaming convention.[10] This article assumes the scenario plays out as described.[2]
