A resonance-absorptive shield was one of the defense mechanisms of the Shadowfang Beast, a bioconstruct created during the Hundred-Year Darkness. When blasters were used on the beast, the resonance from the shot charged up its shield. In order to kill the creature without activating the shield, the Shadowfang Beast had to be unconscious.[1]
