Around 41 BBY, on the planet Kashyyyk, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and several Wookiees were rescued by Obi-Wan Kenobi and other Wookiee warriors. The Jedi and the Wookiees had been prievously captured by Trandoshan hunters in the lead-up to Life Day, a Wookiee festivity.
Prelude
Around 41 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, who was on[3] the planet[4] Kashyyyk with his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi to study the customs of the Wookiee, and other Wookiees were captured by the Trandoshans hunters before the Wookiee festivity Life Day celebrations began.[3]
The rescue
Kenobi and Wookiee leader Brennonn developed a plan to free the Jedi and the Wookiees. Kenobi tricked Trandoshan leader Korgan into believing that he had surrendered. While Korgan was distracted, Kenobi used the Force to open Jinn's cage. Jinn then grabbed his lightsaber, which was with Kenobi, and joined forces with him. Korgan was still unintimidated, saying that the Trandoshan outnumbered the two Jedi, but suddenly Wookiee calls roared throughout the forest as armed Wookiees appeared leaded by Brennonn.[1]
Aftermath
Korgan agreed to surrender and freed the prisoners. The Jedi and the Wookiees then went back to the village to begin the Life Day celebration.[1]
