Rescind E.R. Droid

The Rescind E.R. Droid was a type of modified DZ-70 fugitive tracker droid used during the Galactic Civil War. Droids of this kind was unarmed as it primarily filled a reconnaissance role. Rescind E.R. Droids were used by the Rak'qua on Station Gamma above Ord Mantell following the Battle of Yavin.[2] In 1 ABY,[3] a number of spacers who explored Station Gamma fought and destroyed multiple Rescind E.R. Droids.[2]

Behind the scenes

Rescind E.R. Droids appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Rescind E.R. Droids were added to the game as part of the "New Player Tutorial," introduced with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[5]

Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
