"If Republic forces aid you in your assault it will break treaties that are over a hundred years old. We will effectively be drawn into another war."
"What's one more?"
―Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bo-Katan Kryze[1]

A treaty existed between the Galactic Republic and the planet Mandalore, signed at least one hundred years before the Siege of Mandalore[1] in 19 BBY.[2] The treaty prohibited the Republic from invading Mandalore, and both Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Prime Minister Almec noted that the invasion assisted by forces of the Grand Army of the Republic led by Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, Ahsoka Tano, and Clone Commander Rex to overthrow the renegade Sith Lord Maul was a violation of the treaty, although Kryze did not care.[1]

Behind the scenes

The treaty between the Republic and Mandalore was first mentioned in "Old Friends Not Forgotten," the first part of the four-part series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which premiered on April 17, 2020.[1]
