- "There are numerous notable examples of the Empire using violence on civilian populations, but it is useful to highlight those which can be considered as warnings or retributions and those which were simply a routine, if horrifying, decision taken by Imperial officials. The planet Lothal saw several examples of this violence while under Imperial rule. Darth Vader ordered a refugee camp, nicknamed "Tarkintown" to be burned with no records remaining as to how many refugees were casualties."
- ―Beaumont Kin in The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Reprisal Activities was a file in the "Lothal" section of the Imperial Archives that detailed information about actions taken by the Galactic Empire on the Outer Rim planet Lothal during the Imperial Era. The file referenced how the Sith Lord Darth Vader ordered the destruction of the refugee camp known as Tarkintown, with an indeterminate amount of refugee casualties. Historian Beaumont Kin referenced the file in[1] his[2] history book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire,[1] in 35 ABY.[3] A document of the same name detailed information pertaining to the planet Ghorman. Another document, titled Refugee Massacre, in the “Imperial Occupation” section of the Post-Imperial Lothal Archives also detailed the events of the Tarkintown's destruction, but with notable differences in the coverage of the event.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
