«That is, I believe, a cultural aspect in which the Unity stands alone among all other peoples. Those who attend such parties wear elaborate outfits utilizing features from clothing throughout Garwian history, woven and melded together in subtle and unique ways. The goal of each participant is to create the most beautiful and most intricate melding, while at the same time detecting and identifying the features in the other attendees' garb.»
―Security Chief Frangelic explains the parties[1]

Remembrance parties were events hosted in the Unknown Regions Garwian Unity nation on the holiday of Mid Spring. Attendees of remembrance parties wore clothing that incorporated features from various periods in Garwian history. The goal of the parties was to create the most intricate clothing, while also identifying notable features in the clothing of other partygoers. The outfits could be made by artisans, such as the Garwian Dame Mimott.[1] Before 19 BBY,[2] the Garwian group known as the Kimbples planned to host a remembrance party on Mid Spring on the Garwian planet of Solitair.[1]

Behind the scenes

Remembrance parties were mentioned in flashbacks in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
