Biography
- "Seek out Rel Rogock and Teemu Komo, the Controller and Grand Foreman, in the Imperial Mine and eliminate them so that these attacks may cease"
- ―Grenz Zittoun, to a spacer
After the Battle of Yavin, Rel Rogock worked in a mining facility operated by the Galactic Empire. During that time, he served as the grand foreman.[2]
The Imperial Mine.
In 1 ABY,[1] the miners hit a gas pocket, releasing toxic vapors in the mine. The gas did not physically injured the miners but made them crazy and very aggressive.[3] Rel Rogock and the mine controller Teemu Komo then commanded the miners in random attacks against inhabitants of Lok.[2] The situation in the mine was later discovered by Nym's Lok Revenants, the powerful criminal organization on Lok. Jinkins, Nym's chief engineer, thus decided to obtain a sample of the gas in order to study it and use it as a weapon if possible.[3] Jinkins thus tasked a group of adventurous spacers of the Lok Revenants with retrieving a sample of toxic gas.[4] While Jinkins was preparing the assault, Grenz Zittoun, another lieutenant of Nym, realized that the raid on the mine could be an opportunity to get rid of the mine controller and the grand foreman.[2] The Lok Revenants then raided the Imperial mine and retrieved a sealed container of the poisonous gas for Jinkins.[4] During the assault, the spacers attacked and killed both Rel Rogock and Teemu Komo, thereby stopping the attacks on the people of Lok.[2]
Behind the scenes
Rel Rogock was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] Rel Rogock was added to the game as part of the revamped "Nym's Theme Park,"[2] released with the "Game Update 16," on March 23, 2010.[6]
During the conversation that started the quest "Out of My Mine," Grenz Zittoun incorectly stated that the Grand Foreman of the Imperial Mine was Ran Machado.[2] Machado was in fact a member of the Lok Revenants.[7]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
