Red Star 1 was a modified TIE/D Defender owned by Countess Iran Ryad. The countess had her fighter painted in a red color scheme. The fighter destroyed in 5 ABY when she was charged with treason and defeated by Baron Soontir Fel.

Behind the scenes

"More Starships!" gives the cost of Red Star 1 as 262,500 credits compared to the 200,000 credit cost of a standard TIE Defender. However, other sources give the standard model a value of 300,000 credits, which would imply a greater cost for Red Star 1.
