- "Obi-Wan, we want you to take a division of troops to Raxus Prime. We've received reports of Separatist activity in the system."
- ―Mace Windu, to Obi-Wan Kenobi
The Raxus system was a three-planet star system, located in the Tion Hegemony in the Outer Rim Territories.
Description
A map of the Raxus system
The Raxus system was home to the junkyard planet Raxus Prime,[3] Raxus II, and Raxus Secundus, the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[4] The star system had one star, Raxus.[3]
History
Around 30,000 BBY, the system was annexed by the expanding Infinite Empire, while Humans colonized the nearby worlds of Barseg and Janilis via sleeper ships after 27,500 BBY. Following the downfall of the Rakata in 25,200 BBY due to a plague and a slave revolt, the system was briefly ruled by the Livien League. After circa 25,120 BBY,[3] Raxus Prime served as a capital for Xer VIII's Tionese faction—the Kingdom of Cron[2]—before being absorbed by the expansive empire of Xim the Despot.[3]
After Xim's empire collapsed in a war with the Hutt Empire in 25,096 BBY,[3] the Raxus system was briefly ruled by the Honorable Union of Desevro and Tion.[2] In 24,000 BBY, the Tionese fought against the Galactic Republic along the newly blazed Perlemian Trade Route, but they joined them a century later after being exhausted by the conflict.[3]
During the time of the Cold War, a proxy conflict between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic, an ancient navigational probe of unknown origins was located in the system. Eventually, someone was sent to slice into the probe's datacore and discover its origins.[9]
