Rannagourds were a vegetable. Russo Berlihat, newly in the service of Moff Bandor on Questal, was assigned to take a plate of rannagourds and balka greens to his Protean prisoner. Belatedly, Berlihat realized that he was the Protean's actual meal, not the vegetables.[1]
