Ran Dan's Folly was a mining colony at the South Pole on the planet Sunspot in the Tython system. The outpost mined petonium and marionium, two elements used for energy. An accident that resulted in the death of a hundred miners occurred in 25,823 BBY, and a strike occurred at the colony in 25,811 BBY, after which the mine was bought out by the miners and their families, who began trading with clients on three planets.. It was abandoned by 25,793 BBY.[1]
