The Rakith Plateau was a location which was dry in high summer that was known to the human Jedi apprentice Rey, who had grown up on[1] the Inner Rim desert planet[2] Jakku.[1] In 35 ABY,[3] as Rey applied drops of lubricant to the droid D-O—who had been recently been powered back up after spending a number of years powered down on a ship—and noticed that it had no effect on him, she mentally noted that D-O was drier than the Rakith Plateau.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Rakith Plateau was mentioned in Rae Carson's 2020 adult novelization of[1] the 2019 sequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[4]
