The raid on the Vermillion was a mission undertaken,^[3] in 3 ABY,^[4] by the crew of the bounty hunter T'onga to rescue Cadeliah, the heir to both the Unbroken Clan and Mourner's Wail Syndicate, from Crimson Dawn. The crew hired the bounty hunter Dengar to lead them to the Dawn's flagship, the Vermillion, where Cadeliah was being held captive, though unbeknownst to the crew, Dengar was actually aligned with Crimson Dawn and had infiltrated the crew to lead them into a trap. Dengar took the crew to Nal Hutta, where the Vermillion had traveled to rendezvous with its agents. After they made their way aboard the ship after Dengar had created a distraction, he informed T'onga and her crew that they would find Cadeliah in the brig and directed them to a turbolift before he left.^[3]

As the crew went up the lift, they began to realize that Dengar had been lying and were ambushed by a group of Crimson Dawn soldiers as they exited the lift, though they were able to defeat them. After the soldiers had been dealt with, the Knights of Ren,^[3] a group of dark side Force-users who were aligned with Crimson Dawn^[6] arrived to kill the crew.^[3]
