RC-P9 was a battle droid affiliated with the Galactic Republic that was stationed near the farms of Ossus during the Invasion of Ossus. Having intercepted the Imperial communications, the battle droid's primary programming was to stop the incoming hostile Imperial forces, likely heading for the farmsteads close-by. RC-P9 was however too slow to intervene and therefore had to brief other Republic forces about the planned attack as well as activity of mutated Geonosians threatening the lives of defenseless civilians.[1]
