R-9XR was a battle droid that was part of the Galactic Republic's forces during the Korriban Incursion, when the Republic invaded the planet Korriban[2] in 3637 BBY.[1] during the Galactic War.[2] R-9XR was tasked with guarding the force field erected in the Valley of the Dark Lords next to the Tomb of Ajunta Pall, but was destroyed by Imperial forces in their push to retake the Sith Academy.[2]
Behind the scenes
R-9XR appears as the second boss in the Imperial version of the Tactical Flashpoint "Korriban Incursion," which was first added to the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic in Game Update 2.7: Invasion. For Republic players, R-9XR is replaced by I5-T1, and the two are virtually identical in terms of their game mechanics.[2]
