Quills was a clone trooper medic who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Quills was part of a team of medics who accompanied a platoon of clone troopers led by Jedi General Kit Fisto to Bilbringi Depot.
Biography
Created on the planet Kamino from the genetic template of bounty hunter Jango Fett,[1] the clone trooper who would adopt the name Quills served as a medic for the Grand Army of the Republic. Medically trained, Quills saw action during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[2] During 22 BBY,[3] Quills was a member of a team of medics who joined a platoon of clone troopers led by Jedi General Kit Fisto to Bilbringi Depot. Once they arrived at the depot, Quills and the rest of the team began providing medical aid to fellow clone Chatterbox who had been shot in the back by a battle droid. They placed Chatterbox onto a stretcher and brought him into the Republic cruiser they arrived in.[2]
Within the trauma center of the cruiser's infirmary, Quills and the medic team were able to stabilize Chatterbox. During the operation, Quills took notice of a clone trooper watching through the trauma center's window and left the room to talk with the clone. He introduced himself and asked if the clone trooper was with Breakout Squad, to which the clone, who was secretly a Clawdite shapeshifter, replied that his name was Sharp, the name of the clone he was impersonating. Quills then informed "Sharp" that he did not need to wear his helmet inside the infirmary, prompting the Clawdite to quickly change his facial structure to almost identically resemble Quills' before removing his helmet. Quills informed "Sharp" that they got Chatterbox stabilized, though he would like to get Chatterbox to a recovery facility on Coruscant as soon as possible.[2]
The Clawdite reported what Quills told him to the rest of Breakout Squad. Fellow squad member Breaker suggested that Quills and Chatterbox could return to Coruscant with them, to which Jedi Commander Nuru Kungurama checked with General Fisto and Quills. Deciding the best course of action would be to leave with Breakout Squad, Quills, with the help of Breaker and Cleaver, transferred Chatterbox and the necessary medical equipment to the squad's Suwantek freighter. Quills also checked up on the Kynachi pilots Pikkson and Sunmantle, confirming that they were fit for duty. Departing from the depot, the squad made the jump to hyperspace, taking the Namadii Corridor route to Coruscant. During the journey, Nuru and Breaker checked on Quills who informed them that Chatterbox's condition remained stabled.[2]
