The Puxian were a rare species in the Galaxy who were almost never seen in the Core Worlds. The males and females of this species appeared drastically different. The male of the species was a flying creature about 50 cm in length with a very long nose and specially developed lungs giving them a thick, nasally voice. The males used large fleshy wings on their backs to fly. The female of the species on the other hand was a 1.5 meter tall humanoid with no ability to fly and a bloated form with malformed legs. The females were unable to speak clearly due to their biology and had a muffled sounding voice. A female Puxian could swallow her injured, even mortally wounded, mate into a pouch-like organ and later regurgitate him healed of any damage; however, this left both parties in a severely weakened state for some time. A male and female couple of this species lived on Fire around 200 BBY.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Puxian, pronounced similar to "Pushian", were created for the Chinese web-novel The Vow of Silver Dawn and named as 普显人 (Pinyin: Pǔxiǎnrén).
