A puffball was a type of furry creature that could be found on[1] the Outer Rim[2] planet Dalna during the High Republic Era.[1] In 230 BBY,[3] one was present in Saludad—Dalna's capital city—near Vice President Hackrack Bep's house when Jedi Knights Yacek Sparkburn and Vernestra Rwoh, Jedi Padawan Imri Cantaros, and the tooka cat Gemmy traveled to speak to Bep. After they arrived, the puffball quickly departed, making its way down an alley between houses. Gemmy spotted the creature, leapt off of Cantaros' shoulder, and began chasing the puffball. Not long later, the tooka returned to the Padawan as he sat outside Bep's house.[1]

A puffball appeared in the 2022 junior novel The High Republic: Mission to Disaster, written by Justina Ireland and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[4]
