Polstine spice was a highly prized and expensive variety of spice. It was also a notably powerful one, even in its raw form, and was only capable of reaching full potency when cooked.^[1]

Having even small traces of the spice was enough to incarcerate a dealer for life. Imperial Moff Ghadi used the spice to blackmail Arihnda Pryce, then aide to Senator Domus Renking, into turning against her employer.^[1]
