A plasma jet, also known as a Plasma Burrowing Jet, was a mining tool mounted on the 11-17-series mining droid. It produced a superheated beam of plasma for burrowing through rock. The jet's beam could be modified in size, ranging from a needlepoint discharge all the way up to a half-meter low-intensity cone.[1]
