An asteroid field in the Corellian system, the Pirate's Shadow was named for the cover and shelter it provided to pirates and thugs lurking within it, preying on freighters that ventured too close. CorSec forces sent occasional patrols into the area, but were never able to eliminate the pirate threat or smuggling operations in the Pirate's Shadow.
Behind the scenes
The Pirate's Shadow appeared in the video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.
