Behind the scenes

Pipi appeared in "The Spy Dancer," a non-canon short film released as part of the second volume of the Star Wars: Visions series, co-written and directed by Julien Chheng. The animated short, produced by Studio La Cachette, was released on Disney+[2] on May 4, 2023.[3] The ship was designed by Ken Le Bras as a mix between Imperial tech with Rebel tech.[4]

"The Spy Dancer" takes place over twenty years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 19 BBY, and before the Alliance to Restore the Republic transitions into the New Republic, which Timelines dates to 4 ABY. Therefore, "The Spy Dancer" must take place between 1 ABY and 4 ABY.
