Pilar VanDeef was a Human male on Tatooine who lived during the time of the Galactic Civil War. Sometimes after the Battle of Yavin, he was abducted by the criminals of the White Thranta Shipping Company. His wife Kashi VanDeef requested the help of a spacer to rescue him but Pilar was assassinated.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Pilar VanDeef appears in the directory tree files for the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[3] According to these files, introduced with the 2005 "New Game Enhancements," Pilar would have been part of a quest by Kashi VanDeef during the Mos Eisley part of the "Legacy Quest." However, Pilar VanDeef is not known to have appeared on the game's live servers as a proper non-player character. Nevertheless, an emulated depiction pulled from this character's Interchange File Format reveals what he would have looked like if he were added to the game.^[2]
