A physiological enhancement system was a type of advance, custom-tailored system that provided medical diagnostics, ergonomic adjustments, and powered support systems tuned to its wearer's motor functions. Its heart-rate regulation and temperature-control systems greatly reduced stress and pain, and physical tasks required less considerable effort. These benefits came at a significant cost, however, as the systems required careful calibration to the wearer's specific needs and physique.[1]
Although physiological enhancement systems were normally tailored to the physiology of an individual, through a standardized template, they were produced for the Galactic Republic's clone troopers, which helped reduce their cost. They could also be equipped to laminate, clone trooper armor, and heavy battle armor.[1]

Physiological enhancement systems were mentioned in Rise of the Separatists, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019.[1]
