Pelgrin was a planet in the Outer Rim. Over two million years before the Battle of Yavin, an indigenous species, the Pelgrin, built the Oracle on the planet, a merging of technology and the Force. The Pelgrin went extinct, leaving many mysterious ruins and artifacts.
Legend had it that over twenty-five thousand years before the Battle of Yavin, Xim the Despot visited the planet and the Oracle. Around 3000 BBY, the Jedi Ermin Phin-Mar and Shannur Darkstar studied the Oracle after the Jedi Council detected a tremor in the Force emanating from Pelgrin.
Following this expedition, the world was given to the Jedi by the Senate, over the objections of interested xenoarchaeologists. Sometime after 32 BBY, a band of pirates attacked Pelgrin and massacred the scientists and Jedi residing there.
