The Peace Faction was a political faction within the Separatist Senate of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars who wished to bring an end to the war. Senator Mina Bonteri of the Japrael sector led the faction at the Separatist Senate Building on the planet Raxus Secundus.[1]
Many of the members wanted to end the fighting for moral reasons, but some had an ideological opposition to the wartime powers granted to the Confederacy's Head of State Count Dooku, as they believed that it made the Confederacy no better than the Galactic Republic. Others opposed the Confederacy's war taxes or feared the dangers posed by the war to interstellar shipping.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Peace Faction first appeared in "Heroes on Both Sides," a 2010 episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars.[2] It was first identified in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars roleplaying products.[1]
