"George walks into the room and it's like "Oh my God! What must he think?" He was pretty cool and joined the party"
―Patty Blau on George Lucas discovering the impromptu Thanksgiving party[2]

Patty Blau worked as the creature supervisor[1] and production coordinator on the 1983 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Blau attended an impromptu Industrial Light & Magic Thanksgiving party thrown by production supervisor Patricia Rose Duignan between the post production night and day shifts on November 22, 1982, after director George Lucas decided he would need almost 100 visual effects shots of the Battle of Endor reworked for the fine cut of the film. Blau was shocked when Lucas himself discovered the party, but the director simply joined in.[2]
