A paraglider in the high atmosphere
A para-wing glider or paraglider was a very light, single person, winged vehicle. It consisted of little more than a pair of wings and a repulsorlift engine, which could be attached to a pilot's back.
These gliders were used by tourists on Cloud City. It had a radar beacon, a simple homing beacon, to allowed the para-wing glider to be found in case the pilot accidentally got lost or ran into trouble.[1]
The downtrodden of Coruscant's lower regions arranged para-wing races that utilized the tractor fields of the city's garbage pits.
The R-444 Imperial Sky Swooper used by the Galactic Empire was one well-known model of para-wing glider, while the ShadoWing-4 para-wing glider used by the Rebellion was another.
