- "Start the planetary rotation off right with a juicy, grilled-to-order nerfsteak, a breakfast staple from here to Outer Zznza and everywhere in between."
- ―Dexter Jettster, menu for Dex's Diner
Outer Zznza was a location[3] in the Zznza system, a part of the Yminis sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] The Besalisk chef Dexter Jettster claimed in the menu for Dex's Diner, his restaurant on[3] the Core Worlds[4] planet Coruscant, that nerf steak was a breakfast staple throughout the galaxy, including such locations as Coruscant and Outer Zznza.[3]
Behind the scenes
- "Doctors on Outer Zznza advise: Cook Smapp over eliptical flame to reduce solar scars."
- ―The Galactic Gossip
Outer Zznza was introduced in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas.
Outer Zznza was first mentioned in the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that combines creature designs and photographs from various projects of George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise, with original text by Bob Carrau. In the book, an August 8, 6094 issue of the in-universe The Galactic Gossip publication included an advisory statement from doctors on Outer Zznza that suggested the creatures known as Smapp should be cooked over elliptical flame in order to reduce the severity of solar scars.[5] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas is non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[6]
In 2009, Outer Zznza was introduced into Star Wars Legends canon via "Dining at Dex's," a Hyperspace-exclusive StarWars.com article that was written by Gregory Walker.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Zznza system, and therefore Outer Zznza, in grid square S-14.[2]
